Is the price data real?
Yes. Prices come from real marketplaces — TCGPlayer (USD) and CardMarket (EUR). We pull this through the open-source TCGdex API, which aggregates official marketplace data.
What you see is the market price — an average based on recent sales and listings, not a made-up number. It is updated daily, not second-by-second. For high-value cards, always double-check the live price on TCGPlayer before buying or selling.
Card condition (NM, LP, MP), edition (1st Edition vs Unlimited), and PSA/BGS grading can change value significantly. Our price is a starting point, not a guaranteed sale price.
How does WePlayOld make money?
The site is free for users. Revenue comes from a few standard channels as traffic grows:
- Google AdSense — display ads on the site (already integrated).
- TCGPlayer affiliate links — when you click "Buy on TCGPlayer" and purchase, we can earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. (Affiliate ID can be added when you join the TCGPlayer affiliate program.)
